Recreational activities are abundant in
Macomb County, and they are minutes away from Lake St. Clair! With 31 miles
of shoreline on Lake St. Clair, it's clear fresh water is central to
recreation. Macomb County has earned the distinction of being a premier boating
capital with over 40,000 registered pleasure craft's, nearly 100 public or
private marina's, and slips accommodating 9,000 boats. Boaters take advantage
of 430 square miles open water.
In
winter, Lake St. Clair and it's inland waterways are transformed in to
glistening landscapes. In the prime winter season, the lake is a 'field' of
ice fisherman and snowmobiler's. All out for a day in the winter sun! Cross
country skiing and sledding are among prime winter sport's at county parks,
like the 876 acre River Bends Park in Shelby Township, or the 760 acre
Metro Beach
Park with over 1 mile of shoreline and the 1600' boardwalk overlooking Lake
St. Clair. Stoney Creek Metro Park is a huge 4,461 acre site with a
host of recreational activities. A 500 acre lake, 6921 yard, 18 hole golf
course. Over 10 miles of fitness trails, and 10 miles of paved roadways makes
for a scenic river through the park! The Four Bears Water Park is great for
summer fun with huge water slides, lakes and pools."
